This one of a kind, handknotted mini mala is made of 54 fair trade moonstone beads, finished with beautiful brass amulet featuring Shiva. Within the trinity of Hindu deities, Shiva is known as "the destroyer" of evil and ignorance. Of his many symbols, a favorite of mine has always been the crescent moon on his head, symbolizing timelessness and wisdom beyond the mind. Paired with moonstone, an obvious choice for a god that dances in cycles of creation and destruction.
moonstone: dreams + intuition + patience
This piece is part of my Sacred Everyday Collection, inspired by my travels through India. From the grandeur of the temples to humble streetside shrines, elaborate rituals to a simple bow to the divine, the sacred is woven into everyday life in India. It is a frequent remembering + honoring. This collection, using materials sourced during my trip, is my homage to this way of being.
* All of the materials I work with are carefully selected and beautifully unique.
